Have you ever walked through an art gallery or museum and simply watched others as they stand gazing at the art with a myriad of expressions upon their faces? If you were to watch them move from piece to piece you might be surprised to discover what type of person they are simply by their taste in art. Everyone has their own preferences regarding art and designs. Some like the bold colorful strokes of artists like Vincent Van Gogh, or perhaps the sometimes unflatteringly realistic paintings of Francisco De Goya, who painted things as they truly were rather than how some wished them to be. Leonardo Davinci was famous for his defining forms using the contrast of lights and shadows. The list could go on and on but you get the point, that there are so many tastes and styles of art. We as emotion driven people, can easily relate to certain pieces more than others simply because they mesh with who we are as a person. We may see things in that particular piece of art that no other person can see.
I personally enjoy simply stopping to ponder the art in God’s gallery called the universe. Hands down, our Creator is the Master Artist who creates masterpieces from nothing except the breath of his mouth speaking them into existence. The difference between create and make is this: to CREATE is to bring something into existence from nothing, and to MAKE, is to form something from existing substances. Until a couple of years ago, I hadn’t had the opportunity to come into contact with granite but now that I have, I enjoy viewing each piece of artwork because that is what they truly are! There are so many colors and variations in each piece that are so fascinating to me! My personal favorite is named Normandy. I’ll give you a visual of what I see when I look at this beautiful piece. It is a creamy white slab, with pools of dark chocolate that meld into small streams of golden caramel. Okay, you can tell from that little description that I like sweets! If I were to tell you what this piece of gorgeous granite reminds me of it would be a deliciously creamy, dark chocolate and caramel cheesecake. So here’s my challenge to you....next time you are trying to decide on what type or color of granite to go with for your countertops, have a little fun by trying to delve a little deeper and figure out what you see in each piece! What does your granite selection say about your unique personality? There’s no right or wrong answer to that question because thats the beauty of being a one of a kind person! We are all rare and special, but it doesn’t stop there.....every single thing in creation is completely unique; from the smallest crisp snowflake to the heaviest slab of gorgeous granite carved out of the mountains of Brazil. God’s unprecedented artistic ability can be seen in everything we touch and see, yet His greatest composition is....YOU!
